I hope this is a fun Easter weekend for everybody. We are excited for some family time together and for Jake, Michelle & the boys to come today for a visit. We are so lucky that they are willing to drive so much to come see us (we don't fit in their house very well)--and Jake is so sweet, he made arrangments so they could be here early enough to come to my American Mother's reception today.
And for some fun, Easton wrote this letter for a writing assignment two years ago--when he was in 2nd grade. I seriously think it is SO funny, so I'm sharing for Easter. (our family saw it last year, but I had to post it for the blog this year!) I did not edit his letter for spelling, so this is just how he wrote it!
Your son had been eating. Peter will not let me bring him home. He left his cloths and shous in my garden. He has been very noddy. I built a scarcrow with his clothes. His is messing my garden up. Leave him in is room for ten years. Why is he coming in my garden. He bothers my family a lot. I hate that little bunny. He jumped in a watering pan. Why was he here in the first place. Why is he so noddy? He ran everywere in my garden. I will add ten dogs. Peter killed the plants. I will make him in a pie. Don’t let him wonder off. Keep him by your side. He got count in a net but he got out of the net. I will have to plant all the food over again. He won’t choose the right.
Your Friend,

Heather! I laughed and laughed at his story! What in the world? Such a nice way to welcome the Easter Day tomorrow- thank you!
ps- sorry I didn't make it today. Please know my heart REALLY wanted to be their but the worlds did not align right with my kids today. Dang kids!
Happy Easter!!!! Hope you have a great day today!
That is hilarious! Easton's personality is a crack up. He is full of life, and imagination. I see it each week at scouts. He is so fun, and think that letter is so dang funny.
I feel so bad that I wasn't able to make it yesterday. I had every intention, but the minutes before I walked out the door, everything seemed to fall apart. I know though that they definitely chose the right person. You are more than deserving of such an award!!
I get noddy at night when I'm tired.
Hi
I love the poem.. so creative - I love to hear things from kids perspectives..
post some pics of easter, I didn't get to see your kids at church Sunday...
Have fun with your sister- I'm jealous, I wish mine were here.
I know that we were there with you to read this, but man, I think it is so funny. "I hate that little bunny!"
Your Friend. ha ha. Wow. Got to love Easton. We had such a great time. Love you all. Thanks again.
It looks like Easton could have a career in writing if he wants. Great story!
Enjoy your sister. What a fun way to spend a holiday!
