Pondering keeping my blog or not, or making it private, or making it for family only. Got totally burned out. Dislike any feel of having to keep up or compete. Totally swamped. Don't know yet what I will do.

I like to see the updates, thats just my opinion. But know you are swamped.
Keep it, but don't feel pressure to keep up or compete. Just post an occasional highlight, so we can all see you and your wonderful family.:) In addition to keeping my out of town family satisfied, I look at my blog as just an additional way of documenting occasional highlights of our family. Sorry you are so swamped, are you primary president or something right now? Are you loving your new home? Hope you guys are doing well, drop me an email (or update your blog:)) if you ever find a minute.
Stop trying to compete! Just think of it as memories you are keeping for your children. I went through some old journals with my kids when they were younger, and read them things I had totally forgotten, and we all laughed and laughed. It reminded me of WHY I write--so the circle of love and laughter (and frustration and tears) continues on and is not forgotten. :) You rock, Heather.
I love an occasional perusal of my friends blogs... but I don't do a whole lot on mine. occasional posts work for me!
I don't feel the competition part, but I know a lot of people do, thats a tough one and if it is the case, keep it just for yourself. The catch up part is tough, but I've always been an avid journal writer and would constantly want to play catch up, and this solves that problem as well as scrabooking! Fulfilling a commandment, I say:) And having fun along the way. I like feeling like I have an audience right now for my journaling instead of hoping my kids will care about it someday (private personal journal).
Im right there wiht ya- but when I DO check out blogs (like i just did yours) I feel like I have better connections to those I love and want to be better frisnds with. You are awesome!
I understand your feelings of competition and if that is why you are doing it I would just keep for the family. However, I do think that is a much easier of collecting the memories of you family. (Not that I am any good at keeping up with mine.) Only you know what will be best for you and your family. If it helps you feel less stress than that is always a good thing! Anything that can make you life easier is a good thing.
Heather, have you seen my blog? If you had you wouldn't feel any need to compete... lol.
I love your blog...whenever you get to it is fine with me. It's always fun to check even if there's not a new one there. I just love seeing all the family photos. From my point of view, it's sort of like scrapbooking....at first it's awesome to see all the creative pages. But soon I'm just grateful to get pictures on a page.
If you decide to go private, I want an invite. It's the only way I can keep up with your cute family!
