Today we are home from church sick. Easton has strep. He came home from school on Friday and said his throat hurt, but then was fine an hour later when it was time for swimming. But over the night he was up and I just knew he had strep--nauseated, extreme sore throat and a fever. So, I medicated him, covered his floor with towels (he is horrible about throwing up all over) and went back to bed. I then spent the rest of the night wishing I could just write prescriptions (I know this sounds braggy--but I always (99%) know what is wrong before I take my kids in), and adding a sick family to my list of things on my mind.
Now, I actually enjoying caring for the kids when they are sick (unless it is the stomach variety)--my kids are so sweet and mellow when they are sick. But it always happens at a time when I'm trying to figure out how to reschedule everything--and in this case, wait and see who else gets it. Fortunately for us, we don't tend to be super susceptible to strep. Everybody has had it once or twice, but it is not generally the sickness that knocks us all out. But wouldn't you know it, this week we have workmen at the house all week, Grandma and Grandpa B. coming (YEAH!) and a trip to see our new cousin for his blessing next weekend! Gotta love antibiotics!
