Christmas Day Photos

Just a few photos from Christmas. This is Christmas Eve--new PJ's of course. Everybody is flushed from having a wrapping paper snowball fight and then dog-piling dad! Mom loved trying to take action shots with her new camera!

Christmas morning, waiting for the all clear to head downstairs. We did pretty well--it was 8:00. Zoe was the last one awake and we think Easton was awake as early at 6, but overall it was not bad!

Easton won the pickle ornament search for the first time!

For sibling gift shopping I tried something new this year. I had a Mom Shop and the kids could come shop there. Everything was priced for our very own token currency (that the kids earn by doing their family jobs and following some of our daily routines). They could choose to go in together to buy things for each other or to get something on their own. (some people had more "money" than others). I would set up the shop specifically for each child (the shop had different items for each child). There were two rules: You can't talk about what was in the shop after you left and you could only come in if

invited. It was great fun and the kids really got into it. They did a great job picking stuff for each other and I wasn't fighting with them in the store about either how much it was or about them wanting to buy junk. I had already done some picking and they had plenty to choose from. I'm going to totally keep this up. I can get stuff when I see good deals and save for Mom's shop for each other or for friends! And, I think more than any other year, the kids really got into GIVING to each other.

Ticket to Ride Europe for dad from the kids. (this is seriously the BEST family or adult game. Very fun!) Thanks Heidi and Matt for introducing it to the family!

And--THE gift this year. yes, the parents who hate video games got the Wii. It was pretty much their gift (complete with games, controllers, nunchuks, and on and on to go around). And--we actually do all like it. They were totally surprised and so pleased! Take a close look at Easton in the photo--nobody ever accused him of being hard to read. Don't know where he got that!

Since Zoe isn't the video game freak that her brothers are--yet, she needed a couple of girly things. Santa didn't forget that she asked for a barbie! She got Giselle to go with her new robe and slippers and movie. Everybody got robes and slippers with books and movies for fun. While her brothers got more Wii accessories, Zoe got this Ariel head (which she never saw at the store) and exclaimed--"This is what I've always wanted!" It was too cute. Ever since it is been in her room with every bow she can fit on the head (you would never know it has red hair). but now at least Heather can sit through dinner without getting her hair done!
That's all. I'm out of patience for downloading photos!

All I can say is great pictures--they really showed off your family well. And Zoe is TOO CUTE. I am glad Christmas was fun. And I have to admit that even I like the Wii-- and I am NOT a gamer.

Looked like a great day. I am laughing that you weren't in any of the shots. Neither was I. We mom's just go, go and take all the photos. Glad I'm not the only one!
