First Day of School

The first day of school dawned bright and early--I don't know that I will ever grow accustomed to the time change from Jeff. Co to OC times--as Zoe put it, we were up before the sun because the sun was still sleepy. In some respects, this was the culmination of our big move--after all a lot of the reason--at least for the timing--was the change to Middle School. So far, so good. Through all our registration and back to school stuff, everybody has been great. I have to say, I feel the transisition acutely here too. I'm so accustomed to knowing everybody in the bulding and knowing the routines and traditions, etc. I feel like the new kid on the block too.

My big middle school boy! It's amazing how much he has changed and grown in sort of non-specific ways. I can jsut tell he is ready for the challenge and fun of getting older!

Home on the bus at the end of the day--BIG SMILES!

Running home from the bus stop. (As a side note--the bus stop has been changed and now comes right to our cul-de-sac. Nothing like starting out in a new school and a new district making waves and trying to get changes. But it worked and now we don't have to go all the way up the street to the bus)

So, it was a great start to our year. The kids all have great teachers. Avery is very happy with his and can open his locker and has a great new friend right next door, Isaac to ride the bus with everyday. Easton has already made lots of friends and has a teacher who loves to read and has TONS of books in her room, Collin is happy and say's he likes it (which is huge for him) and Zoe got the perfect teacher for her (totally bubbly and outgoing and a fashion queen too!)

I wan't sad, I just felt significance of another family milestone. I know the kids are all ready for this step in their little lives--and after a day to myself I am too :)

I am so happy that the teachers are such great fits for them. Especially Easton and Zoe. Easton will love new reading material. Zoe will attach herself very quickly to her teacher I imagine. Avery does look older in that picture. Can't wait to see you all soon.

Wow, I can't believe how old they are getting. Avery especially looks so much older to me. I am glad that they like the new school. It sounds like everyone is transitioning well. Can't wait to see you all soon. Love ya!
