PIFF--Pay it forward, FINALLY!

This is really embarassing to post, but it's true. Last year I won a wonderful Pay It Forward box on my sweet--totally awesome and creative--friends blog--click here to see what was inside. Anyway, it's taken me this long to get mine together but I'm finally ready.

Here is the deal:

3 lucky blog readers will have the chance to win one of my Pay It Forward boxes.

The theme is Christmas cooking.

.
Here's how it works:
1. You must have your own blog to perpetuate the Pay It Forward Exchange/Craft. YOU MUST Pay It Forward! (ovbiously I won't be giving you a time limit, but I would love to know what you do with it
2. You must enter by making a comment with something interesting about yourself that I don't know, your favorite holiday colors, your favorite font and your favorite holiday baking tradition. (recipes would be a great bonus!)
3. You have until Wednesday night, October 29th. My crew will help me draw the lucky winners then.
4. There will be 3 lucky pay it forward winners.

I'm not ready to post a photo of the box contents, but I can say I think they are adorable--almost a worthy follow up to what I got in mine. I can't wait to see who enters and what you all have to say.

I am sure whatever you came up with is amazing...like everything else you take on. What a neat idea. Of course if I win, I will pay it forward as well. As far as something interesting about me... (like there is much you don't know)I can say that some of my fondness childhood memories are of holidays with you and Holly, Heidi and Mom and Dad. Making turkey cookies, or sugar cookies. Singing and dancing to Christmas music. Christmas jammies. I remember so vividly the Christmas you and Reed got married and you teaching us to make homemade bows for the packages. I always idolized anything you did...in a way still do (ie. the painting, the letters in the bathroom) ha ha. lots of love.

I think my favorite holiday baking tradition is baking our little date nut cakes from a recipe that was my husbands grandmothers. His family has made them every Christmas for years and it has become a tradition that our children still love to continue even though they are grown. They are like mini muffin sized fruit cakes. We also bake cookies and make candies to pass out to all of our neighbors every year along with a video, pass along card or something else that will be a good thing to share with them about our Savior and Church. Christmas is a wonderful time to share the message of the Gospel as well as good food! No one turns away a good cookie! :)

Heather--You are famous! I just saw you in the paper for being Mother of the Century! I'll get your autograph tomorrow! Anyway, something interesting about me--I have a geographic tongue! (Very rare!) My favorite colors are green and orange and pink. I have no idea what my favorite font is....and I am not a baker. Well, we do bake special treats every year when we go Christmas caroling. We usually make those green papermint fudgey brownies, tiny lemon bread loaves, cookies, etc...

In my comment I forgot to mention a couple of things...I really don't have many interesting things about myself but I can try...When I was young and looking for a Church the Osmonds were my big "interest" and their Mom was a big help in teaching me and encouragin me in the Gospel. She was a great friend a young girl that needed a friend. My favorite holiday colors are just bright red & green at Christmas...I like the deep burgandy with gold too though! My favorite font is just plain ole "Times New Roman" because it is easy to read. Now and then I like to use a fancy script but I prefer a good printed type that is easy to read! I think that is all I forgot...sorry about that! I got so excited about baking that I forgot to address anything else!
have a great day!

I saw this idea on another friend of mines blog and thought it would be fun to start up! So I will start here! Ok, I love baking- went to school for it- and my favorite thing to make at Christmas is gingerbread men and hang them on the tree- I love to see how they slowly disappear into little hands who think they are being so sneaky! But thats why I put them on the tree in the first place :) I love silver and red together- I'll post my gingerbread recipe on my blog!

I didn't realize until reading it again that it was ALL of those things. Favorite holiday colors: I like the bright green with an emerald green and a deep crimson. Font: Juice, Papyrus. Baking tradition: I havn't had enough years at this I think, but I usually make bananna bread (I think because Mom always did.)

I can't pass up the chance for some crafty goodness from you! I don't know what I could say about myself that would be interesting...I like to read cookbooks, but I'm afraid to try a new recipe unless it's dessert... my favorite holiday colors are silver and dark reds with lighter greens and browns--think evergreens and cranberries. I love fonts that look like handwriting, clean, crisp and interesting. Favorite holiday baking tradition-we used to bake up plates of goodies and leave them on doorsteps (blackbottom cupcakes, gumdrop spice cookies, cornflake wreaths, marshmallow logs, peanutbutter kisses) until mom got sugar overloaded. Then we started taking hot fresh rolls. I loved that because honestly, who can resist warm bread? The trick was to deliver them right after they came out of the oven. Wow, now I'm excited to do some holiday baking! I hope be one of the lucky three! =) Thanks!!

This is the coolest idea. I would totally love to do this. I guess that my favorite christmas color would be the traditional brighter christmas red. I love how pretty it is next to the dark green on my Christmas tree. I don't know that could tell you what my favorite font it. I usually like the ones that are kind of formal looking and girly. As far as baking goes, the holidays are usually the only times that I take to make cookies and breads. My favorite thing that I do for Christmas is these really cute Santa cookies. They are made with Nutter Butter cookies so I don't even have to bake them. Last year I make these really awesome lemon-glazed short bread kind of cookie. They were a lot of work but so good. Oh, now I am really getting excited for the holidays. They are such a fun time of the year. I love turning on my Christmas music and decorating my house, cleaning, or cooking while I sing along. I just can't help but feel good when I listen to Christmas music! Thanks for putting this together. What a fun idea and a great way to kick off our holiday season. Love ya.
