Happy Birthday Collin

Collin Lane Deshler turns 7 TODAY!

We started the day bright and early and Collin was ready so early for school that he and Easton go to play video games while I made his favorite breakfast--scrambled eggs and sausage.

Then off to school for donuts and juice with his class (there are 3 kids with birthday's this weekend, so the other two are doing treats this afternoon.) But, in just a while I'm going to go get Collin out of school for his Dr. check-up and we will have lunch together. Tonight is our ward Christmas party, which we will go to, but first we are headed to Olive Garden for dinner (collin's pick). Reed is out of town today, but Collin had a nice surprise from him when he woke up too-- a new chapter book, since Collin can't put them down lately! so we will have a fun day, but then tomorrow we will have the "official" family party with Dad!

Collin--about 6 months old! He was such a good baby, so easy and mellow and ALWAYS smiling! It seemed like he never got to totally be a little boy--he was always tagging along after AVery and Easton, but because he was younger, I got a couple of years with him while the other two were in school. He became my little buddy!Collin--around his 3rd birthday--just before he got his glasses. He has always been so cute with his glasses, but this is when his shyness came out. Everywhere he went, strangers talked to him and told him how cute he was. They said he looked so much like some of the child movie stars--the kids in the Christmas story and the Jerry McQuire kid too. He would hardly talk to anybody he didn't know, and got worse about speaking up even with people he did know. But underneith that shyness is the heart of a jokester. he is so funny and clever, he just has to warm up!

Collin around age 5. This was about the time Collin started doing math problems in his head. It started with time, everyday he would ask when the boys would get home from school. I would say 4:00. He would then look at the clock in the kitchen and say, "that's 51 minutes" or whatever, depeding upon what time. So I would look at the time, and sure enough, he would be right. His teachers call him the human calculator. And he has been know to tell his brothers that they are doing "baby math"!

Finally--a big Kindergartener!

This year it seems Collin has grown a ton. He was the top points earner for his U6 boys swim team, loves 1st grade, Pokemon, Video games and reading. He still is quiet, but is coming out of his shell more.
Collin is such a joy in our family! I love you C-Head!

Happy Birthday Collin. He really is getting big Heather, and turns out we share the same Birthday. Pretty exciting, except I'm 30 this year not 7.
