Is it just me?

Ok, I really to the point if I'm doubting myself. All along I thought it was just other people with seriously BAD manners, but maybe it's me? I really have the pet peeve, people lately do not seem to know how to use in and out doors at public places. I wonder how these people drive. Maybe they are from other places in the world. Am I wrong or are you supposed to use the door on the right--from the perspective you are facing. In on the right, out on the left--as you face it? Now--I know that it's pretty easy for me to get around now--no toddlers to corral, no car seats to balance, etc. I don't mind at all holding doors for others and will often go out of my way to try (remenants of old pet peeves when I was trying to funtion in the world with 4 kids under 6). But this is what gets me--going to open a door (my door--the one on the right), seeing that there is somebody poised to come through the door on the left from the other side, and then having them wait, come through my open door with not even a moment of hesitation and then look at me like I've done something wrong--and not so much as a Thank You. I can't even count how many times in the recent past I've walked away from a door encounter befuddled. So friends, am I wrong?
Disclaimer:
no I don't need anger management lessons, I'm not really mad, but seriously I have had to take a few deep breaths and remember what is important. I really am just wondering.

You know, a lot of Targets and Walmarts have the in and out doors on the opposite side than what you would think...

So basically you are saying it is me. Thanks Jake! --for nothing :)

Oh Heather, I'm with you on this. The best is when people look at you like you are wrong. Kind of like driving when someone runs a stop sign or something. I just have to laugh. So just laugh, take a deep breath and yell at the person and call them an idiot!:)

I thought that this was just a Utah thing. I can relate so much. People just seem to lack basic manners anymore. I find myself constantly getting frustrated with the lack of common courtisy(spelling ?) for others. Hopefully, our kids will be able to ignore the bad examples in the world and remember what they were taught at home.

I agree, I think that most people are oblivious. I actually did that to someone else tonight because I was struggling with Ty. I felt horrible afterwards- so rude of me. But I hate it when others are rude. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt. Jake totally gets road rage and I try to tell him that he doesn't know what is going on in their head.

I would have to agree as well. In on the right and out on the left. I prefer just to use the buttons and have them open all on their own. Especially when I am pushing a stroller.

Actually there are several stores that have confused me on this issue...IGA in Crestwood has always mixed me up, their doors are in on the left and out on the right...I always try to go in the wrong soor...so I think there is a conspiracy to get people confused over the last few years so maybe people are truly just not sure where they are suppose to enter or exit these days...I agree...it should be in on the right and out on the left but the world is creating a mismatched world of doors!
